How do you eliminate cable with a Streaming Media Player and save money in the process?  You now have several options to choose from.  First you need to pick a streaming media player.  A few of the more popular options are Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Roku. The next step is to pick a TV service like Sling TV or PlayStation Vue. Once these steps are done you are ready to call your cable and cut off your cable service. Note, you will need to keep your internet service since your Streaming Media Player will need an internet connection in order to work. You will also need a good wireless router.

After researching several different options, here are the choices I made. My cable service was Charter and I was paying around $230 a month (I have 6 TVs).  This included cable, my land line phones, and my internet service. I purchased the Amazon Fire TV for $89.99 (you could also with the Fire TV stick for $39.99) and you will need one for each TV.  The Amazon Fire TV comes with Alexa Voice Remote and supports 4K Ultra HD.  We already have Amazon Prime so this is one of the reasons I chose Amazon Fire TV (you don’t have to have Amazon Prime to use Amazon Fire TV). This streaming TV player is sort of like a smart phone. There are all sorts of apps that you can load.  I already subscribe to Netflix so this was the first app that I loaded.

My next step was to pick a streaming TV service.  I choose PlayStation Vue for $29.99. This was the only service that I could find that had Fox News which was a must for me.

Finally I was ready to cut off my cable service.  I also decide to cut off my land line phones since everyone in my family has cell phones. So after cutting off my land line phones and cable, my cost for internet service is $40.  So the total monthly cost for my internet service and my streaming TV service is is $70, a monthly saving of $160. Like I mentioned above you will need to have a Amazon Fire TV box or Amazon Fire stick for each TV.  I hope this post helps and if anyone has any questions please let me know.
