I put a piece of 3/4 styrofoam insulation in the bottom and add a resuable freezer pack, and it does a good job of keeping cold. I drive a truck and pack my lunch and drinks for the day, sit it in seat and point a/c vents toward it. A lot better than an ice chest and no mess. Just be sure to prechill what is put in it.
